Many years ago, whilst conducting a tour in Italy at Mount Vesuvius, I saw that our hosts had arranged lunch on camping tables outside in the sunshine and, clever clogs as I am, I remarked: "Vedo che mangiamo al fresco." This was met with quizzical looks, and then laughter. "No, no, no," came the reply, "Mangiamo al'aperto." We were to eat "in the open-air."
So, I asked, what does "al fresco" mean? Well, came the reply, it sounds as if you want your lunch whilst sitting in the refrigerator. It means "in the cold."
Sharpness is overrated! Motion blur works for me. The victim is sharp in his stillness and no way he is able to react to his incoming, “ I’m blurred-cause-I’m-coming-in-hot!” assailant.

"Fresco" is also a colloquial term for jail.
"Starà al fresco per un pezzo" means "He'll be in the slammer for some time."
I hope no one gets arrested for eating outdoors by mistake lol!
In Japan you don't run the risk of being arrested but it's generally frowned upon.
Love it ... nothing like a little 'lost in translation'
So appreciate the comments and the photos.
Thank you Linda!
Really enjoyed this set of "day in the life" of a city photos. Works well in black and white too.
Thank you Janice - glad you enjoyed!
Great couplings. Excelling both with words and a camera is not for everybody.
Thank you Gianni!
Clever and fun!
Very kind KwetieBird!
You don't need a picture of a beef roast to write an hilarious post.
Al fresco roast dinner - now that *would* be a photo!
Delightful photos
Thank you Ludwig
Thank you so for the many chuckles I've had while reading, Richard.
