I really enjoyed this. I went to a few writing groups in a stuck-up coffee shop and everyone read their writing aloud, aloud and proud. Everyone but me. I couldn’t do it, still can’t.
Thank you Krystal, I’m still nowhere near confident reading my poems but I feel that the only way I will get better is doing it more ... I think I also need to learn to properly edit audio - especially for the longer poems!

May I ask if this is based on real life ? I might add that meeting your heroes / role models / muses / inspirations, etc. may not always be a good thing on several ( dozen ) levels.
I met the author Mercedes Lackey online & felt like I had lost an argument with an almost perpetually pissed - off hedgehog wearing fashion made of steel wool & having a monthly visitor or 2. 🤕💀☠ & Ms. Lackey lacks humanity. NOT a hero nor a role model.
Not totally based on real life - apart from having seen quite a few poetry readings and seeing people who might be wanting to pass things over - but it is certainly based on a real poet who I admire and I wanted to think about what he would do faced with such a scenario ....

I'm rarely at a loss for curiosity. Billy Joel, possibly Elton & a reasonable number of musicians based songs on real - life vignettes, after all.
