Seeing this reminded me - I got on Youtube yesterday & aurally IMBIBED a lot of Taj Mahal. It was like listening to a mystic. It was probably as close as I'll come to a gut - level " spiritual " ( yes, that word does get bandied about quite a bit with reckless abandon ) experience, & I'll probably never see a LIVE performance. B. B. King will be next in queue. I had originally searched for Miles Davis, but Taj Mahal..... a fine nectar that gets better with age, one of a line of Holy Grails.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Miles Davis play live - and he was certainly ‘out if this world’ - a man totally in control of ‘his’ musicians and his music ....

My skin is turning green with envy - some shade between jade, emerald or olive, perhaps pistachio.

Someone remarked that Youtube is the closest to a time - machine that we'll ever have, in regard to great live performances, unless we know the owner of a certain anachronistic blue 50's - 60's vintage era police - box which is bigger on the inside. Allons - y / Geronimo ! ⏲⌛ ( I couldn't resist. Or maybe I could. No apologies )
