A small collection of views of the high street, and yet the message they all convey is "buy me, spend money, waste time". That was me too. Rush home, weighed down with carrier bags, emptying them on the dining room table, "Oh, this, oh that!" Surveying the carnage. Tidying the bags away. "Must keep these, so everyone will know in future that I shopped there." I must stop, I feel sick. As if writing about a Roman orgy.
Ha! Thank you Graham ... I remember year ( and years ) ago at college having to have the coolest carrier bag from the trendiest record shops - I had a bright pink one with 'Candy Suck' written on the side ... sorry I forgotten if i'm writing about shopping or the Roman orgy?
Great series, Richard!
Thank you Mark!
Shopping till your dropping,
Can be a little much for most…
I’d rather watch people shop until they drop,
Then give them a toast…
Hoping they didn’t purchase a bunch of name brand stuff,
so they could go out in public and boast…
Richard, I enjoyed your pictures & rhymes,
Thanks for taking the time…
And thank you MAL for you lovely reply!
I love finding new ideas on Substack which would never have entered my mind. This is great.
Thank you Ian - I'm glad you liked.
My fav is "I'm going to need a bigger tote." Great share.
Thank you Jennifer - secretly it's mine too ...
LOVE the vision and way you've kept these black & white! Hmm your mind's an interesting place to be.
Thank you Mohika! Interesting is one word for it lol!
..."visions for the future"...more shopping...hehehe...
Exactly!
So many phones. In years to come we will look and be horrified by this distracted generation.
That's a whole different series lol!
Very cool! Going shopping right now.
Thanks Alex - watch out for those dodgy geezers sticking cameras in your face lol!
Yeah, I'm always on the lookout for those assholes :)
I see you had this photo shoot in the bag from the start. 👊🏼
I might have got a little carrier-ed away ...
Great post-last picture is my favorite for whatever reason, even though it's hard to choose
Thank you Chen ... I quite like his cheery demeanour too!
I noticed the first capital letters of the descriptions. Did you mean to achieve dharma?
So, "Om!" Moan ... or?
Serendipity for you lol!
Wonderful. What observations!

Soho, Old Street, Marylebone, Oxford Street, AMALFI, just casually! Great pics!
Thank you! Not too many plastic carriers in Amalfi - quite a few LV ...
