Thank you - having technical issues lol! I had it as a draft and somehow I've managed to post it without the image ... it's on my other mac sadly - but as soon as I can i'll update ...!
It's strange because I think originally I'd had 'woken up' or something and changed it as I didn't like using a variation of 'woke' twice ... I seem to recall sniggering at the time at my new choice .... clearly it subconsciously affected my typing ...
I'm a " student / coneisseur " of pop - culture, specifically US, but also UK, Japan, etc. Shakespeare, Dickens, TWAIN were very likely pop culture in their day.
Apologies for the initial lack of image - gremlins in the draft -> live process - hopefully it was worth the wait lol!
lovely poem Richard, but just to let you know, i see no image on the post, not on the app nor the web version

That last sentence changes when it reads, “...came to.” Which did you mean?
Lol .... I think I might have to change that ... if ever there was a textbook definition of a Freudian Slip ... thank you for spotting Nick ...
You’re welcome. I did spit my coffee when I read it :-)

I’m still impressed by your presence of mind when writing. Mine seems to come sometimes days after hitting “publish”.
If the protagonist had a name, it should be Sam Beckett ( Quantum Leap, mid 1980's, NBC )
OMG - I used to love Quantum Leap ... damn ... i'll need to do a revision of this poem later with one of the names being Sam ....
My work here is done, then. I'll get Ziggy......
