You hear the people passing you in a blur, as a drone, monotone, background hum. Things get like this when you let time catch up and overtake you, of an evening. This is the time you best get something solid under your rear, try to see if they’re right that this terra-firma below you is actually moving, rotating, or not. So you sit and the footfall-polished worn flagstones ease, frictionlessly, your decent and your relaxation into a warmth, something kindred to a pride, in this city you call, and deeply feel, on occasions such as this, your home.
This photo was taken on London’s Southbank, in September 2021. I was in London for Open House weekend and was staying in Richard Seifert’s Kensington Forum hotel - if you’re a lover of brutalist architecture ( which I am ! ) you will know what a treat that was ( especially now as it’s closed ) I wandered the night time with my tripod and took this shot getting in the way of everyone trying to get to the Southbank Centre. Later that night I watched Emma Raducanu win the US Open ( on TV I should add ) Shot on the Nikon D750.
