There are only hints
and fragments now.
You live your life to
witness them.
This is the final
drought, and you are
desperate for any
kind of sustenance.

For a moment, I saw
a real chance.
I shook my head and lost it there,
in that one sideways glance.

I cannot act upon a choice
without thinking at it first.
And in that cognitive stutter,
often pick the course that’s worse

The windows of time
when things are at
their peak is short.
The skill is to know them,
feel them and understand
that the ball is firmly in your court.

If you get the thing you want,
you will no longer want it.
It is the eternal longing
which is the one thing
that keeps us going.

for ever so long,
worth smiling at.

a life of brilliance.

time and emotion I
asked you for a refund.

"cognitive stutter"
ïs an apt phrase for it.
The choices
are fewer and fewer
the view smaller
the road you are on
is a detour
that isn't finished yet.
Some parts of you are missing now
you don't know how
you got here.
Look for me
on the side of
the unfinished road.
I have a sign that tells you
where to go.
Good stuff.
