Don’t believe your mother

A poem

1.
Inside was a greatness, he knew, to behold,
a brilliant talent, the genius,
his mother had told him so.

2.
If he could solely focus on his own stuff,
great wondrous outpourings,
were sure to run forth.

3.
Desire being fed from the effort demands,
impossible procrastination,
no work yet, just plans.

4.
Blames and excuses, lined up in a row.
When the situation was requiring, 
he’d let a few go.

5.
The biggest fear he could ever imagine,
even with all the time in the world,
nothing would happen.
