Will I complete my work
in a hospital bed
a race against the time I have left?

Compos mentis,
in control,
in my right mind?

I wonder who I will leave this to?
Is it you, my friend?
Will you want this?

When I go, will you stay up reading and
remembering, ruminating,
finding those deep truths

or will you put it off until you too
have no time
left?
