Church bells echoing in the still night, midway through, you’ve clocked them too late. Unsure if it’s the hour or minutes past or to that is being signalled, upon waves, to you. Walking alone at night, stars and lights, not frightened or fearful, alive to the cool air and clear thoughts that bring you in a state of indecision to where you at last see the truth, hidden but obvious when you know where to look. Not read in a book, not instructed by a friend, but worked out mindfully in your own head. For now it’s clear, your mind is made up. Who knows what you’ll think when you wake.
